Giving
How do I support the ministry of Banbridge Church of Ireland financially?
Firstly, thank you for visiting this page and for seeking to discover how you can support the work of the Parish financially. We appreciate your partnership in the Gospel in this ‘grace’ of giving and encourage you to spiritually prepare your giving in line with the teaching of the Bible in 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 and 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. Please read these passages and note the call for a ‘giving’ which is both generous and sacrificial.
Some Parishes talk about giving a 10th of our income as a guideline for our giving to the Lord. In truth, when this 10th is a helpful guide, it is not the standard we use as a rule of thumb. At Banbridge Church of Ireland we encourage prayerful, faithful and generous ‘giving’ which is planned, sacrificial and an act of worship to the Lord.
We use the guideline: ‘Give what is right not what is left’, as we encourage everyone to set aside the Lord’s portion of our wealth as a priority in managing our financial affairs. Your generosity is appreciated, and we are thankful for the grace with which the congregation gives to the work of the Lord.
Parishioners and friends of the Parish can choose to give in a number of ways:
1. Ad hoc or one-off giving by cash or cheque on the offertory plate at our services. Envelopes are available from the Wardens with the option of gift-aid for UK taxpayers.
2. Ad hoc or one-off giving online by bank transfer to Church bank accounts. Gift-aid will only be claimed if you use your surname followed by your initial as the reference for the payment and we already have a gift-aid form signed by you.
3. Planned giving through ‘Free Will Offering’ envelopes with the option of gift-aid for UK taxpayers.
4. Planned giving through monthly/annual ‘Standing Order’ directly from your bank with the option of gift-aid for UK taxpayers. This is our preferred way to receive funding as it allows us to do more accurate financial planning.
If the lord has put it on your heart to give, then please complete the gift aid form below. You will also see a button to “set up a standing order”. This will give you detailed instructions on how to do that.
Banbridge Church of Ireland (Seapatrick Parish Church) has four bank accounts which we appreciate your help with funding.
